These enumerations are common to a number of different files.

Enumeration: image_group

Image group for battlefield images and animations.

• Usually represented as three characters followed by a null, although in some places spaces are used instead of nulls.
• An initial 'E' stands for a non-player human, an 'M' for a nonhuman.

Enumeration: menu

The current menu of options.

• This defines which menu of options you get (which determines the background image and possibly the music). Any place there is a menu is represented in here: in-city menus, encounters, talking to the miners, even the iron doors in the mines.
• These definitions may be stored in the executable; they haven't been found elsewhere. A 'strings' of darkland.exe reveals a bunch of names that look like the menus, in the appropriate order, but no simple structure was apparent -- other binary data was in there too.
• These are possibly called 'cards' internally to the game.
• When travelling on the map, 0x0c is used (which isn't really a 'menu of options').

Enumeration: month

Calendar month.

• Months are zero-based
